Vote to pass a bill that authorizes a distillery to sell alcoholic beverages directly to an individual.

Highlights:

  • Authorizes the holder of a distillery license to provide a person with small sample portions of their product free of charge (Sec. 2).
  • Authorizes the holder of a distillery license to sell alcoholic beverages in quantities of not more than 1 gallon per day per individual for consumption off the licensed premises (Sec. 1). 
  • Authorizes the holder of a distillery license to sell not more than 3 ounces of  their product to an individual for consumption on the premises under certain conditions including, but not limited to, the following (Sec. 2):
    • The distillery prohibits live entertainment, televisions, dart games, or other recreational or gaming opportunities on the premises where the consumption occurs; 
    • The distillery does not provide seats at the bar where the product is served; and
    • The distillery does not open the room where the consumption occurs before 9:00 AM and closes the room no later than 8:00 PM.
  • Requires a distillery employee who sells or serves alcoholic beverages to complete an alcohol server education course for licensure and licensure renewal (Sec. 3).
