Vote to pass a bill that amends urban-county transient room tax laws.

Highlights:

• Increases the additional, maximum transient room tax an urban-county government is authorized to levy from 2 percent to 4.5 percent (Sec. 1).

• Requires the urban-county government to use the transient room tax revenue for the following purposes (Sec. 1):
• To finance the construction, renovation, expansion, or improvement of a multi-use arena and a convention center located in the urban-county;
• To pay the operating costs of a nonprofit corporation created for the funding, construction, and management of the multi-use arena and convention center; and
• To pay for improvements to state-owned tourism-related facilities “that support economic revitalization”.
