Vote to pass a bill that amends existing voting law and authorizes the Western States Presidential Primary to be held electronically.

Highlights:

• Authorizes the Western States Presidential Primary election to be held electronically provided the legislature appropriates funds to the primary and declares in the appropriation that the elections will be held electronically (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that if the legislature declares the election to be held electronically, the lieutenant governor must hold the election before the scheduled date of any other state’s method for selecting a presidential nominee (Sec. 1). 

• Requires the lieutenant governor to perform the following actions while conducting electronic voting (Sec. 2):
• Place safeguards that ensure accuracy and security;
• Ensure the confidentiality of voters; and 
• Make changes to the deadline and other requirements to fulfill above requirements.
