Title: Requires a School Board to Provide Public Notice Prior to Certain Votes

  • Requires a board of school directors to provide the following details prior to a vote on a proposed collective bargaining agreement or a proposed employment contract for a professional educator who is not a member of an employee organization (Sec. 1):
    • A statement of the terms for the proposed collective bargaining agreement or employment contract; and
    • An estimated cost to the school district for the proposed collective bargaining agreement or employment contract. 
  • Specifies that notice required for the provisions of this bill must meet the following criteria (Sec. 1):
    • Be posted on the school district’s website at least 48 hours prior to the board of school directors meeting; or
    • Be published at least 1 time in a newspaper of general circulation in the school district at least 48 hours prior to the board of schools directors meeting.
