Vote to pass a bill that authorizes domestic violence victims to apply for a temporary concealed weapon permit.

Highlights:

• Authorizes an individual under a court-issued protective order because of domestic violence to apply for a temporary concealed weapon permit, which would last 45 days (Sec. 1). 

• Requires the Department of Kentucky State Police to either issue the temporary permit within 1 working day or deny the application (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes an individual with a temporary concealed weapon permit to convert the permit into a concealed weapons license if he or she completes the firearms safety training within the 45 days that his or her permit is valid (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Department of Kentucky State Police to maintain an automated list of temporary permit holders and pertinent information (Sec. 1).
