Title: Establishes the Idaho Wolf Depredation Control Board

Vote to pass a bill that establishes the Idaho Wolf Depredation Control Board to direct and manage funds for wolf population control.

Highlights:

  • Establishes the “Idaho Wolf Depredation Control Board” to direct and manage funds for wolf depredation control, and establishes the “Wolf Control Fund” (Sec. 2).
  • Requires the Idaho Wolf Depredation Control Board to include the following members (Sec. 2):
    • The director of the Department of Agriculture;
    • The director of the Department of Fish and Game;
    • A representative of sportsmen’s interests appointed by the governor;
    • A representative of the livestock industry appointed by the governor; and
    • A member of the public at large appointed by the governor.
  • Requires $110,000 to be deposited each fiscal year from the following sources into the Wolf Control Fund (Sec. 2):
    • The Fish and Game Fund; and
    • Wolf control funds from the Idaho Sheep and Goat Health Board.
  • Requires all funds in the Wolf Control Fund except funds transferred from the Fish and Game Fund to be used for activities associated with “legal lethal means of control” (Sec. 2). 
  • Specifies that the provisions of this bill expire on June 30, 2019 (Sec. 2).
