Vote to pass a bill that expands eligibility for the State Need Grant Program to include undocumented individuals.

Highlights:

• Expands eligibility for the State Need Grant Program to include the following criteria (Sec. 1):
• The individual has completed the full senior year of high school at a public or private high school in Washington and has received a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof; 
• The individual has lived in the state for at least 3 years before to receiving a high school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma; 
• The individual has lived continuously in the state after receiving a diploma or its equivalent until being admitted to an eligible higher education; and
• The individual has been granted deferred action for childhood arrival status pursuant to the rules and regulations of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

• Appropriates up to $5 million from the General Fund to the Student Achievement Council for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015, solely for the purpose of student financial aid payments under the State Need Grant Program (Sec. 3).
