    • To make recommendations to the State Board of Education on the adoption of rules regarding all aspects of charter school operation including renewal or nonrenewal of charters, and revocations of charters.
  • Requires at least 50 percent of teachers in grades kindergarten through 5 to have teacher licenses (Sec. 1).
  • Requires all teachers of mathematics, science, social studies, or language arts to be a college graduate (Sec. 1).
  • Requires the Board of Directors at each charter school to adopt a mirroring criminal background check policy to the local Board of Education, if they have adopted such a policy (Sec. 1).
  • Repeals the North Carolina Charter School Advisory Council, as established by the State Board of Education on August 4, 2011 (Sec. 7).
