Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that requires certain electronics to meet energy efficiency standards.

Highlights:

• Establishes energy efficiency standards for certain electronics including, but not limited to, televisions, battery chargers, refrigerators, commercial ice cube machines and lights (Secs. 3 & 4).

• Establishes minimum energy efficiency standards for televisions sold in Oregon, including a requirement that the television enter standby-passive mode after a maximum of 15 minutes without use and that the peak luminance of the device in home mode is not less than 65 percent of the device in retail mode (Sec. 3).

• Prohibits the sale and installation of certain electronics including, but not limited to, televisions, battery chargers and lights that do not meet the energy efficiency standards established in the provisions of this bill (Secs. 5-7).
