Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the automatic withdrawal and use of union fees for public employees without yearly written authorization.

Highlights:

• Prohibits funds from being withheld from the earnings of any public employee for the purpose of paying fees to a public labor organization without annual written authorization by the public employee (Sec. A).

• Requires the written authorization form for the withholding of fees to contain certain details including, but not limited to, the amount to be withheld and a disclaimer that the authorization is voluntary (Sec. A).

• Prohibits any public labor organization from using fees paid by a public employee to make political contributions without annual written authorization by the public employee (Sec. A). 

• Requires public labor organizations to keep copies of written authorizations and records of collected and transferred fees (Sec. A).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill do not apply to first responders or any labor organization that represents first responders (Sec. A).
