  • Appropriates $24 million to the Department of Justice from the Dealers’ Record of Sale Special Account to complete pending cases in the Armed Prohibited Persons System (APPS) (Sec. 2).
  • Requires the Department of Justice to report to the Joint Legislative Budget Committee by March 1 each year, beginning in 2015, information that includes, but is not limited to, the following (Sec. 2):
    • Information on how the APPS backlog has been reduced;
    • Information on the number of agents hired for APPS enforcement;
    • Information on the number of firearms recovered from APPS enforcement; and
    • Information on the number of people cleared from or added to the APPS database.
