Title: Inclusion of Unborn Child/Fetus in Definition for Civil Suits Amendment
Vote to table an amendment to a bill that defines a person in the context of civil actions to include a fetus at every period of development in the uterus from conception until birth. This amendment also specifically exempts a pregnant female from a civil suit for acts affecting her fetus, unless it is due to the use of illegal drugs. This bill also exempts health care providers from civil suits due to medical treatment performed on pregnant women, such as a lawful abortion or any other medical treatment that is necessary to a pregnant women or her unborn child.
