Title: Authorizes Use of All-Terrain Vehicles on Certain Roads

Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the use of all-terrain vehicles on secondary roads and city streets.

Highlights:

  • Authorizes the use of all-terrain vehicles designed to be driven on 4 or more wheels on authorized secondary roads and city streets (Sec. 5).
  • Prohibits all-terrain vehicles from being driven on primary highways or on highways in the corporate limits of a city except when the vehicle is crossing a primary highway (Sec. 10).
  • Authorizes cities to decide whether or not they will allow all-terrain vehicles on highways (Sec. 11). 
  • Prohibits all-terrain vehicles from being driven on highways unless the driver is at least 16 years of age and has a valid driver’s license to operate an all-terrain vehicle on a highway (Sec. 10)
  • Prohibits an individual from traveling over 45 miles per hour on a highway while operating an all-terrain vehicle (Sec. 12).
  • Establishes a $50 annual fee for registered all-terrain vehicles (Sec. 5).
