Vote to pass a bill that prohibits Medicaid expansion unless the Department of Health completes an analysis of the expansion and reports the findings to the legislature and the public.

Highlights:
  • Prohibits the Department of Health and the governor from expanding the state’s Medicaid program under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) unless the following conditions are met (Sec. 1): 
    • The Health Reform Task Force has completed a thorough analysis of a statewide charity care system;
    • The Department of Health has completed an analysis of the impact to the state of expanding the state Medicaid program and made it available to the public; and
    • The governor submits a request for legislative review to expand the state Medicaid program.
