Vote to pass a bill that increases minimum wage, effective January 1, 2014.

  • Increases the minimum wage rate from $7.50 per hour to $8.50 per hour, with the following exceptions (Sec. 1):
    • Authorizes an employer with 10 or fewer employees to pay a minimum wage of $7.50 per hour; and
    • Authorizes an employer with a trainee employee to pay a minimum wage of $7.50 per hour during the training period for up to 1 year.
