Title: Appropriates Funding for Charter Schools

Highlights:

  • Requires the State Department of Education to distribute funds from the educational support program to public charter schools for facility and property costs (Sec. 2). 
  • Requires facility funds distributed to charter schools to be a percentage of the average tax for facility funds imposed by Idaho school districts, calculated by the number of full-time students at the charter school (Sec. 2).
  • Requires the amount of facility funds distributed to charter schools to be between 20 and 50 percent of the average school district facility tax (Sec. 2). 
  • Authorizes public charter schools that do not receive facility funds for all enrolled students to submit a reimbursement claim to the State Department of Education for any costs for which facility funds may be used (Sec. 2).
