Title: School Transportation
Vote to pass a bill that permits school districts to enter into agreements with private contractors to provide transportation for pupils in those school districts. The State Budget and Control Board shall calculate a proportion of state appropriations for school transportation for each district based upon the actual transportation expenditures of that district the year prior to entering contract, as reported by the Department of Education. The bill also provides that a district may make special transportation arrangements in instances that an alternative is more cost effective than operating a regular bus route.
