Title: Increases Commercial Fertilizer Inspection Fee
Vote to pass a bill that increases the commercial fertilizer inspection fee and appropriates money for research.
- Increases the state commercial fertilizer tonnage inspection fee from $0.15 per ton to $0.30 per ton (Sec. 2).
- Increases the state commercial fertilizer tonnage inspection fee from $0.05 per ton to $0.20 per ton for fertilizers made entirely of manipulated animal manure (Sec. 2).
- Appropriates $0.15 per ton collected by the state commercial tonnage inspection fee for fertilizer-and nutrient-related research at South Dakota State University (Secs. 3 & 4).
- Establishes the Nutrient Research and Education Council to supervise all fertilizer- and nutrient-related research at South Dakota State University (Secs. 5 & 6).
