Vote to pass a bill that limits prize payouts in a sweepstakes.

Highlights:

• Prohibits any individual from conducting or participating in the conduct of a "sweepstakes" with the use of a sweepstakes terminal device at a sweepstakes terminal device facility, unless the individual obtains an annually-renewable certificate of registration from the attorney general (Sec. 1).

• Defines "sweepstakes" as any game, contest, advertising scheme, plan, or other promotion where consideration is not required for a person to enter to win or become eligible to receive any prize, the determination of which is based upon chance (Sec. 1).

• Classifies a violation of the provisions of this bill as gambling, a misdemeanor of the first degree (Sec. 1).

• Defines "sweepstakes" as any game, contest, advertising scheme, or other promotion in which the eligibility to win or receive a prize is determined by chance (Sec. 1).

• Requires a facility that provides a sweepstakes terminal to obtain a certificate of registration from the attorney general before conducting any sweepstakes (Sec. 1).

• Classifies a violation of sweepstakes facility reporting requirements as a misdemeanor (Sec. 1).
