Vote to pass a bill that limits the secretary of state's role in the publication of legislative documents.

Highlights:

• Repeals the requirement that the secretary of state provide notice of published acts to the legislative reference bureau following its date of publication (Sec. 1). 

• Defines “date of publication” as the day after a bill has been enacted, whereas existing law defined it as the day designated by the secretary of state (Sec. 3).

• Requires the person numbering an act to provide electronic notice to legislative reference bureau on the day a bill is enacted by the legislature, and for copies of a bill to be made available electronically on or before the date of publication  (Secs. 4 & 7).

• Limits the amount of time from which the legislative reference bureau must publish each act enacted over the governor's partial veto from 10 working days after the date of enactment to the date of publication (Sec. 5).

• Requires every act enacted over the governor's partial veto which does not provide an effective date to take effect on the day after its date of publication (Sec. 8).
