Vote to pass a bill that requires special elections to be held on certain days, effective January 1, 2014.

Highlights:

• Requires special elections to be held concurrently with the primary or general election during a year in which a primary or general election is already scheduled to occur (Sec. 9).

• Requires special elections to be held on the Tuesday immediately following the first Monday of May or November if no primary or general election is scheduled to occur that year (Sec. 9).

• Requires annual school elections to be held in each school district on the third Tuesday of September (Sec. 3).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill do not apply to special elections to fill a vacancy in office, special runoff election, or a special election otherwise provided by law (Sec. 9).
