Vote to pass a bill that appropriates funds to public schools and reduces the property taxes paid by public schools, beginning school fiscal year 2014.

Highlights:

• Authorizes a school district with a general fund of less than $1.5 million to retain oil and gas production taxes up to 150 percent of the school district’s maximum general fund budget for fiscal years 2014 through 2017 (Sec. 8).

• Increases the funding provided to high school districts, elementary school districts, and K-12 district elementary programs with or without a junior high or middle school, beginning school fiscal year 2014 (Secs. 6-7).

Vote to pass a bill that appropriates funds to public schools and reduces the property taxes paid by public schools, beginning school fiscal year 2014.

Highlights:

• Increases the funding provided to high school districts, elementary school districts, and K-12 district elementary programs with or without a junior high or middle school, beginning school fiscal year 2014 (Secs. 6-7).

• Appropriates oil and natural gas production taxes to school districts and limits the appropriations to no more than 130 percent of a school district’s maximum budget (Sec. 8).

• Reduces the property tax on school districts (Sec. 5).
