Vote to pass a bill that amends the campaign finance limits for state offices.

Highlights:

• Increases the total campaign contribution amounts a political committee or an individual can make to a candidate for state office or his or her leadership committees as follows (Sec. 1):
• For candidates filing jointly for governor and lieutenant governor, the contribution limit increases from $500 to $2,500;
• For candidates filing for any statewide office other than governor and lieutenant governor, the contribution limit increases from $250 to $1,000; and
• For candidates for any other public office, the contribution limit increases from $130 to $500.

• Exempts committees of political party organizations from the campaign contribution limits (Sec. 1).

• Defines “political party organization” as any political organization that had a candidate on the official ballot in the most recent gubernatorial election (Sec. 1).
