Title: Prohibits Discrimination Based on Sexual Orientation
Vote to pass a bill that specifies the state's position regarding discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.
- Specifies that the state does not condone discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation (Sec. 1).
- Specifies that this bill does not do any the following (Sec. 1):
- Create any rights or protections with respect to discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation;
- Give an individual who has been discriminated against based on sexual orientation a right to sue for damages; or
- Amend or change any state law or policy relating to discrimination.
- Increases the age requirement for workplace discrimination from 40 to 55 years of age (Sec. 2).
- Decreases the back pay received from discrimination practices from 2 years to 1 year (Sec. 3).
