Vote to pass a bill that establishes the Opportunity Educational Institution and policy board.

Highlights:
  • Establishes a statewide school division called the Opportunity Educational Institution with a policy board in the executive branch of state government (Sec. 1).
  • Requires any school that has been denied accreditation to be transferred to the Opportunity Educational Institution for supervision (Sec. 1).
  • Authorizes the board to vote to transfer any school that has been accredited with warning for 3 years to the Opportunity Educational Institution for supervision (Sec. 1).

    • The chairman of the school board in any school division that has been transferred to the Institution will be a non-voting member.
