Title: Prohibits Opening a Vehicle Door Adjacent to a Lane of Traffic
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits individuals from opening motor vehicle doors adjacent to a lane of traffic.
- Prohibits an individual from opening a motor vehicle door on the side adjacent to moving traffic until it is “reasonably safe” to do so (Sec. 1).
- Exempts law enforcement officers, school guards, firefighters, and members of rescue squads who are performing their job duties from the provisions of this bill (Sec. 1).
- Classifies a violation of this bill as a traffic infraction with a fine of no more than $100 (Sec. 1).
