Title: Prohibits Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Discrimination
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, effective July 1, 2013.
- Prohibits discrimination based on the sexual orientation or gender identity of an individual in circumstances that include, but are not limited to, the follow (Sec. 2):
- When an individual obtains employment;
- When an individual obtains education;
- When an individual uses public accommodations; and
- When an individual is selected for a position on a jury.
- Exempts religious organizations and institutions from the provisions of this bill (Sec. 1).
