Title: Requires Certain State Electronic Exchanges to Be Made Public
Vote to pass a bill that expands the definition of a teleconference to include meetings conducted through electronic texts.
- Expands the definition of “teleconference” to include electronic text communication of official business among a quorum of a political subdivision or public body, including (Sec. 2):
- E-mail;
- Text messaging;
- Chat services; and
- Other similar media.
- Requires the contents of a teleconference to be made available to the public (Sec. 1).
- Requires the contents of any teleconference meeting conducted by a quorum of a political subdivision or public body to be defined as public record and maintained for a period of 1 year (Sec. 3).
