Title: Medical Malpractice Limits Amendment
Vote to adopt an amendment that limits the amount of money a plaintiff can be awarded in a health care liability action lawsuit, formerly known as a medical malpractice lawsuit. The amendment limits the total amount that can be awarded in all noneconomic losses lawsuits to $500,000, except in those cases that result in death or a prolonged coma, in such cases the limit is $1 million.
