Vote to pass a bill that prohibits employees from being required to join a labor organization as a condition of employment.

Highlights:

• Prohibits individuals from being required or compelled to do any of the following as a condition of employment (Secs. 14 & 17):
• Pay any dues to a labor organization;
• Refrain from joining or resign membership from a labor organization; or
• Become or remain a member of a labor organization.

• Specifies that these provisions affect only contracts which are created or renewed after the passage of this bill (Sec. 14).

• Appropriates $1 million for fiscal year 2012-2013 to the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs in order to implement this bill (Sec. 14).
