Title: Establishes a 5 Percent Fee on Satellite TV Companies

Vote to pass a bill that establishes a 5 percent fee based on gross revenue for satellite broadcast providers.
Requires direct broadcast satellite service providers to pay a 5 percent fee based on the provider’s gross revenues received from customers or subscribers in Illinois (Sec. 10).
Defines “gross revenue” as payment collected by providers from their subscribers or customers as compensation for providing broadcast satellite television service (Sec. 5).
Specifies that “direct broadcast satellite service” does not include satellite or subscription radio service through which the radio signal is broadcast without related video programming or services (Sec. 5).
Authorizes the provider to pass on the fee to their customers in the state (Sec. 10).
Requires the proceeds from the fee to be deposited into the Education Assistance Fund in the State Treasury (Sec. 25).
