Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that expands the California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) program to cover pregnant mothers 18 or younger.
- Expands the CalWORKS aid to qualified pregnant mothers who are 18 years of age or younger, which they can receive for no longer than the last 4 months of their pregnancy (Secs. 1 & 2).
- Specifies that CalWORKs aid will be provided to a qualified pregnant mother who is 18 years of age or younger at any stage of her pregnancy, regardless of whether she is eligible for the Cal-Learn Program, effective after the Cal-Learn Program is operative (Secs. 1 & 2).
