Title: Equal Pay Bill
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits employers or labor organizations from paying their employee less than another employee of the opposite sex for the same or substantially similar work. The bill specifies that this does not apply to pay based on a seniority, merit, or quality or quantity of production system. The bill also prohibits businesses from reducing wages in order to meet these provisions. Additionally, the bill allows individuals to file a complaint if they feel their employer does not comply with the bill and requires employers to pay damages equal to one and a half time the pay difference, if found in violation of these provisions.
