Title: Requires more Transparancy and Accountability from Port Authority
Vote to override a veto of a bill that requires more transparency and accountability from Port Authority.
- Requires the Port Authority to undergo an independent audit before any proposed increase in fees, tolls, charges, or fares (Sec. 3).
- Requires the Port Authority to publish certain information on its official website including, but not limited to, the following (Secs. 4 & 7):
- Recent financial reports;
- Current fiscal year budget;
- Recent independent audit;
- Current activities; and
- Minutes from all open meetings.
- Requires the Board of Commissioners to conduct 10 or more public hearings at least 30 days before the adoption of any increase in fees, tolls, charges, or fares and at least 1 hearing must be held in each county in New York and New Jersey that is affected by the increase (Sec. 6).
- Requires the Board of Commissioners to conduct 10 or more public hearings at least 15 days before the adoption of an amendment to a proposed fee, toll, charge, or fare increase and at least 1 hearing must be held in each county in New York and New Jersey that is affected by the amendment (Sec. 6).
