Vote to override a veto of a bill that provides information on access to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, effective in the 2012-2013 school year.

Highlights:
  • Authorizes the Department of Health and Environmental Control to offer HPV vaccination to students entering the seventh-grade in public and private schools (Sec. 2).
  • Specifies that the HPV vaccination is not required for students to attend or enroll in school (Sec. 2).
  • Authorizes the department to develop and provide schools with informational brochures on the HPV vaccination series to hand out to students in the sixth-grade and to highlight the optional nature of the HPV vaccination series (Sec 2).
