Vote to pass a bill that appropriates $7.5 million to the Basic Skills Education Stipend Program for fiscal year 2006-2007, and $12.5 million to the State Board of Education to fund proposals to improve mathematics achievement test scores of students in grades four through six. The bill requires that at least 50 percent of funds for mathematics achievement improvement tests go to proposals that implement incentive bonus plans. The bill also changes teacher dismissal procedures.
