Vote to pass a bill that requires manufactured home community owners to explain rent increases greater than the Consumer Price Index For All Urban Consumers (CPI-U).

  • Prohibits owners of manufactured home communities from raising the average rent in any amount more than the Consumer Price Index For All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) of the previous year unless the owner is able to demonstrate that the cost of improving, operating, and maintaining the community has risen more than the CPI-U (Sec. 2).
  • Requires an owner of a manufactured home community wishing to raise the average rent by more than the CPI-U to apply for the increase to the Council on Manufactured Housing (Sec. 2).
  • Authorizes a representative of a homeowner's organization for an affected community to supply evidence to the Council regarding the rent increase request of the owner (Sec. 2).
