Title: Amends Teacher Pension Funding

Vote to pass a bill that amends funding for teachers' pensions, effective June 1, 2012.

Highlights:

  • Requires county Boards of Education or the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners to pay to the state Board of Trustees the amount required by this chapter to the Teachers' Pension System and Teachers' Retirement System, beginning July 1, 2012 (Sec. 1).
  • Increases the amount contributed by each county Board of Education or City Board of School Commissioners to the state Board of Trustees annually, between fiscal years 2013 to 2016 (Sec. 1).
