Title: Increases Minimum Wage
Vote to pass a bill that increases the minimum hourly wage, effective January 1, 2013.
- Increases the minimum hourly wage as follows (Sec. 1):
- From $8.25 to $8.50 per hour, beginning January 1, 2013; and
- From $8.50 to $8.75 per hour, beginning January 1, 2014.
- Increases gratuities for individuals in the hotel and restaurant industry, other than bartenders, from 31 percent of the minimum hourly wage to the following (Sec. 2):
- 31.76 percent, beginning January 1, 2013;
- 33.71 percent, beginning January 1, 2014; and
- 31 percent, beginning January 1, 2015.
- Increases gratuities for individuals that are bartenders from 11 percent of the minimum hourly wage to the following (Sec. 2):
- 13.65 percent, beginning January 1, 2013;
- 16.11 percent, beginning January 1, 2014; and
- 11 percent, beginning January 1, 2015.
