Title: Prohibits Hydraulic Fracturing
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits hydraulic fracturing.
- Prohibits hydraulic fracturing and the collection, storage, or treatment of waste water from hydraulic fracturing (Sec. 3).
- Defines “hydraulic fracturing” as the process of pumping a fluid under the ground in order to create fractures in rock for the purpose of the production or recovery of oil or gas (Sec. 2).
- Requires the Secretary of Natural Resources to submit a report, on or before January 15, 2015, to the legislature on how hydraulic fracturing should be regulated (Sec. 5).
- Requires the Secretary of Natural Resources to submit a report, on or before January 15, 2016, to the legislature on the environmental impacts of hydraulic fracturing (Sec. 6).
