Vote to pass a bill that requires corporations and organizations to disclose campaign expenditures and financing.

Highlights:

• Requires advertisements for state elections that support or oppose any political candidates to identify by name individuals, organizations, and committees that contributed more than $1,000 (Sec. 9).

• Requires advertisements for state elections which disclose an organization's name and contribution amount to also identify at least 5 individuals who have donated the top 5 largest amounts (Sec. 9).  

• Specifies that individuals who contribute to a not-for-profit organization which has donated money to a campaign do not need to be identified if the organization segregates the money into an account not used for campaign activity (Sec. 8).  

• Requires the board of any organization or corporation to vote when the organization spends over $4,000 on, or relating to, a political campaign for state election (Sec. 10).

• Requires the votes of individual board members to be posted on the organization or corporation's website if the board members vote to spend over $4,000 on, or relating to, a political campaign (Sec. 10). 

• Requires any individual, organization or corporation that makes a campaign-related expenditure  to file a report with the State Elections Enforcement Commission within the following amount of time to avoid a civil penalty (Sec. 8):
• Within 24 hours of the donation if an amount greater than $1,000 is spent more than 90 days before a primary or general election; and
• Within 12 hours of the donation if an amount greater than $1,000 is spent in 90 or fewer days before a primary or general election.
