Title: Increases Minimum Wage
Vote to pass a bill that increases the state minimum wage from $7.15 to $8.50 an hour, effective January 1, 2013.
- Increases the hourly minimum wage from $7.15 to $8.50 an hour (Sec. 3).
- Requires the minimum wage to be adjusted on January 1, 2014, and each subsequent year, based on calculations that take into consideration the rate of inflation according to the Consumer Price Index or another index calculated by the Department of Labor (Sec. 3).
- Increases the minimum wage of food service workers that receive tips from $4.60 to $5.86 beginning March 31, 2013, with adjustments made to the minimum wage based on the rate of inflation each subsequent year (Sec. 3).
