Title: Amends Eligibility Requirements for the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship

Highlights:

  • Specifies that the eligibility requirements for the Tennessee HOPE scholarship are as follows for students who have graduated from an eligible high school (Sec. 1):
    • The student must be admitted to and enrolled in an eligible postsecondary institution within 16 months of graduation from high school; and
    • The student must have an overall high school GPA of at least a 3.0, an ACT score of at least 21, or an SAT score of at least 980.
  • Specifies that the eligibility requirements for the Tennessee HOPE scholarship are as follows for students who have were homeschooled, passed the GED, or who have graduated from an ineligible high school for academic years prior to the 2015-2016 academic year (Sec. 2):
    • The student must have achieved an ACT score of at least 21 or an SAT score of at least 980; or
    • The student must have passed the GED tests with an average score of at least 525 and obtained an ACT score of at least 21 or an SAT score of at least 980.
  • Specifies that the eligibility requirements for the Tennessee HOPE scholarship are as follows for students who have were homeschooled, passed the GED, or who have graduated from an ineligible high school beginning in the 2015-2016 academic year (Sec. 2):
    • The student must have achieved an ACT score of at least 23 or an SAT score of at least 1070; or
    • The student must have passed the GED tests with an average score of at least 525 and obtained an ACT score of at least 23 or an SAT score of at least 1070.
