Title: Repealing Provisions of the Election Revision Code
Vote to pass a bill that repeals portions of the elections code pertaining to absentee voting periods.
- Requires the Board of Elections to provide absent voters' ballots 35 days prior to an election for absent voters voting both in person and not in person, whereas existing law specifies that absent voters' ballots would be available as follows (Sec. 1):
- For voters not voting in person, 21 days before an election; and
- For voters voting in person, 17 days before an election until 6 P.M. on the Friday before the election.
- Requires polling officials to direct a voter to the correct precinct if the voter is not voting in the correct precinct, whereas existing law specified that it was the responsibility of the voter to determine his or her correct polling place (Sec. 1).
