Title: Requires Photo Identification for Voter Registration

Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that requires individuals to present photo identification when registering to vote in person, effective July 1, 2012.

Highlights:

  • Requires individuals who register to vote in person to present an official state identification card, an operator's or chauffeur's license, or another generally recognized picture identification card.
  • Specifies that if an individual registering to vote in person does not present photo identification, his or her registration shall be considered a mail registration application.
