Title: Prohibits Employers from Asking for Internet Login Information
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits employers from requiring or requesting an employee or prospective employee to disclose account and password information to social networking websites.
- Specifies that the provisions of this bill do not limit the employer’s ability to establish the following policies (Sec. 5):
- Limit the use of equipment including internet usage;
- Monitor the usage of electronic equipment and electronic mail; and
- Obtain information from social networking sites that is in the public domain.
