Title: Authorizes Electronic Billboards
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the use of outdoor advertising, including mechanical and electronic billboards.
- Authorizes outdoor advertising to be placed or maintained along an interstate, secondary, or primary system within 660 feet of the edge of the right-of-way, including but not limited to, the following (Sec. 1):
- Advertisements that are capable of mechanically or electronically changing messages that:
- Do not contain animation; and
- Stay static for at least 8 seconds;
- Directional or official signs and notices; and
- Signs, displays, and devices located on the premises of the activities they advertise.
- Authorizes cities and counties to regulate outdoor advertisements, including the use of lighting (Sec. 1).
