Title: Prohibits Teens from Using Cell Phones While Driving
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits certain drivers from talking on a cell phone while driving.
- Prohibits individuals with a level 1 or 2 graduated license from talking on a cell phone while driving except when reporting:
- A traffic hazard, medical emergency, or serious road hazard;
- A situation in which the person believes his or her safety is in jeopardy; or
- A crime against another person that has occurred or seems likely to occur.
- Exempts from the provisions of this act the use of voice operated systems that are integrated in the vehicle.
- Specifies that a violation of this act is a civil infraction.
