Title: Establishes a Task Force for Government Continuity

Highlights:

  • Establishes a task force containing the following 7 members (Sec. 1):
    • 2 senators appointed by the President of the Senate;
    • 2 representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House;
    • The Director of the Department of Homeland Security or a designee;
    • The Attorney General or a designee;
    • The Adjutant General or a designee;
    • The Director of the Department of Agriculture or a designee; and
    • The Director of the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission or a designee.
  • Requires the task force to investigate the potential impact of the following events upon Wyoming (Sec.1):
    • The “rapid” decline of the United States dollar;
    • The federal government has no “effective power or authority” over the citizens of the United States;
    • A constitutional crisis;
    • A disruption of the food supply; and
    • A disruption of energy distribution.
  • Requires the task force to investigate the potential preparation for Wyoming to implement the following (Sec.1):
    • Provide an alternative currency “quickly;” and
    • Coordinate between the governor’s office, Wyoming National Guard, and any federal military in Wyoming.
  • Requires the task force to submit a report and recommendation to the governor and the legislature by December 1, 2012 (Sec. 1).
  • Appropriates the following amounts for the task force from the general fund (Sec. 1):
    • $18,000 for legislative members' salary, per diem and mileage reimbursement; and
    • $14,000 for non-legislative members for per diem and mileage reimbursement.
