Title: Limits Recalls of Elected Officials

Vote to pass a joint resolution that submits a constitutional amendment to the voters that prohibits the recall of an elected official unless he or she has been charged with a crime punishable by at least 1 year in prison, or against whom there has been found "probable cause" of a violation of the state's ethics code.

NOTE: A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT REQUIRES APPROVAL BY A SIMPLE MAJORITY OF MEMBERS IN BOTH HOUSES OF THE LEGISLATURE IN TWO CONSECUTIVE SESSIONS AND APPROVAL BY A SIMPLE MAJORITY OF THOSE VOTING IN A STATEWIDE REFERENDUM.
